In September I styled up some Christmas for At Home in Milly’s room. I love getting to stroll their aisles and put together a look that is both fresh and unexpected. I know that it’s still very early for holiday decor. But I also know that a lot of you look to blogs like this for inspiration, whether you are sparked by colors and styles or led to go to At Home for an item I used that could work in your own home. I am not one to decorate this early, but I think there is value for others in sharing ahead of the game, before you’ve already started brainstorming or the items are all sold out in stores.
I’m always trying to push myself to do something outside the classic Christmas box while still keeping it traditional. When I saw this blush-y pink tree I knew it would be incredible in Milly’s room, and the size is so fun for a table top. I grabbed a big pot from the outdoor section to give it a clean and upscale look. Monochromatic ornaments add texture and shine while the buttercream, faux peonies feel unexpected and whimsical. The glittery bows add a touch of dazzle and the chartreuse velvet is an unexpected pop. I also grabbed some fresh pillows the stripe and that pretty velvet bolster to switch up the bedding. I think the whole look is pretty and timeless in colors that feel modern.

I did this shoot in early September, and Milly was pretty adamant about leaving the tree up. It brings her joy and sure is cheery! Have you thought about holiday decor yet? If not, that’s totally ok. Are there any details or colors that feel fresh to you?

Wow, such an amazing post. keep up the good work.
Where did you get the canopies for their beds?!
We made the frame but a local upholsterer made the curtains and cover. I’m sure an upholsterer near you could do the same!
