I’ve spent the last few days breathing in fumes and trying to keep little fingers out of wet paint, but I think I’m now done with the first step of our master bedroom refresh. I’m still always amazed at what a gallon or two of paint can do, and this space was no exception. Almost 6 years ago, I painted the walls like this…
There is still a lot to be done, but I feel like a weight has been lifted off of the space. 6 years ago I thought I wanted a cozy bedroom, and when I worked outside of the home, that was just fine. Our master is on the main level and now that I’m home so much, I spend a lot of time in and out of the room during the day. I need it to feel light and bright, like the rest of the house, to keep my energy up. It’s fresh and clean, and waking up in the morning (not my favorite thing) seems easier.
Now it’s on to what goes in the room and on the walls. These are just some items I borrowed from other areas of the house, but I would love to find some similar side tables for in here. Sidenote: You should run to your nearest Walmart for some amazing deals on plants. Succulents the size of your head in pretty terra cotta pots for $8! My husband got our bedroom set after he graduated college, and while it’s not necessarily my style, it’s really nice quality and design. I hope by moving the nightstands down to the basement and finding some other side tables, I can continue to lighten up the feel and make it flow with the rest of the house. New bedding and art for above the bed (I’d love to DIY something) are on the list as well. I’ll be sure to show you more of the space as I work on it in the coming weeks.

Thanks, kels! We took Benjamin Moore's Moonshine at 50%. So it's almost off-white but with a touch of grey.

Carol, it's Benjamin Moore's Moonshine at 50% color. We used a Behr paint. Hope that helps and thanks for reading!
