My sister-in-law is pregnant with her second child, and I’m honored to help throw her a little shower to celebrate. The more I think about baby showers, the more I feel that they are really a celebration of the mother more than a celebration of the baby. I understand that they wouldn’t happen without the existence of a baby, and the gifts are mainly things used on said baby; but the intention to shower, pamper, and celebrate a woman who is going through so much physically and emotionally (I’m saying all of this as someone who has never “loved” being pregnant) seems like the best way to address the event.
Approaching the invite, I hoped to make something really beautiful, using elements I thought Mandi would like. Mandi has really great taste. When it comes to her home and interiors, she leans toward a French country look. She loves blues, neutrals, and a little feminine frill. But when it comes to her personal style, she tends to go a bit more masculine and edgy. Even 9 months pregnant, she can be seen every Sunday morning singing at church in a wonderfully structured dress and some killer 6″ heels. She often wears a few Versace pieces, and they were my inspiration for the Greek key detail.

What a pretty invite! I love that it's a little more sophisticated/stylish than a typical baby shower invite, right up my alley!
