Most of you know my friend, Justin. He’s been taking my picture for almost five years now, and we’ve known each other for over a decade. Justin is the one who really pushed me to not just put my work out there but to put my face out there too. We have a lot in common, from owning our own businesses to our faith, so when we get together we usually have great conversations. It helps that Justin could probably have a conversation with a brick wall, ha.
He’s super personal and fun, but he also has some wonderful thoughts on photography, ethics, business, and the like. I’ve been encouraging him to put these thoughts out there for a while now, and I’m excited to share that he has started a podcast! We recorded two episodes last fall, and they are live now on Spotify, iTunes, and his website. The first is about photography. I don’t necessarily consider myself a photographer, but it’s a big part of what I do. And the second is about environmental portraiture, which is what Justin typically takes of me. Along with what I use to shoot, I also share my overall thoughts on photography and the creative process. It’s very much a conversation that we would have sitting around after shooting: intentional but casual. Casual enough that I may have let a word I blame my dad for slip, whoops! Head to his site for a listen, and happy weekend!
