Last year’s Christmas picture was my favorite to date, and I wasn’t sure how to create something I loved just as much this year. I had a few ideas and initially thought about just shooting the kids by themselves, but after talking to my photographer, Justin, we landed on a series of portraits.
You know I love old things, and so I love pictures that evoke a time gone by. I’ve admired La Coqueta’s children’s clothing for a while now, and when they had a nice sale for Black Friday I splurged and got the girls dresses, knee highs, and the sweetest little Mary Janes. Then I just pulled clothes the rest of us had to complement. I love how timeless the kids look, I know I’ll cherish these photos forever.
At first we tried to get Hank and Domino together. And we did get some great shots of them! It’s just really hard to get a puppy and a 2-year-old to stand still and stoic for a picture, ha. I love these pictures too!
I also wanted to let those of you in the Kansas City area know that I’ll be hosting a get together at Crate and Barrel at Town Center Crossing next Thursday the 13th! I’ll be putting together some tablescapes and showing you how to bring all of the elements together for an atmosphere that will dazzle any guest. There will be bites from La Bodega, drinks, giveaways, and a chance to just hang out and talk design. Come see me from 6 to 8 on the upper level, I would really love to meet you! You can find all of the event details here.

Thank you, you too! With a last name like Kingdom, you have to have good taste. 😉

Looking back on the previous year, you were smiling. I noticed this year even the children are not smiling. I guess you were going for a moody feel & look of days gone by? My favourite is the photo of your youngest with your chocolate lab. So cute!

Yes, we were looking for something a bit more stately this year. Fun to mix it up!
