⋅ONE ROOM CHALLENGE Have you been following along this round? It’s week two and has been fun to watch from the sidelines this time. The last two rounds we did our man cave and sunroom. I have some very talented friends participating, and some people who’s work I admire from afar. I can’t wait to see what Erica, Julia, Christine and Nicole do. I know House of Brinson and Old Home Love will leave me inspired.
⋅WHOLE30 Micah has been asking to do this for several years now, and we are planning to take it on this next month. My diet fits under the Whole30 parameters until about 2:30 in the afternoon when I eat 5-7 cookies, so that’s sure to be a struggle. Any tips, tricks, and recipes would be appreciated! Because I’m working out and nursing all the time I know I’m going to have to step up my calorie intake to stick to it!
⋅HAIRBRUSH I got a lot of responses on Instagram when I proclaimed I hadn’t washed my hair in 7 days. You’re either amazed or completely grossed out right now…it’s ok to be both. One thing I didn’t have was a nice hairbrush, but a reader recommended this one and I’m really liking it so far. You can see more of my hair tips here.
⋅ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY My current watch on Netflix is this delightful show that takes couples house hunting in the English countryside. They typically see three homes, and it’s fun to see what ancient building many date back to the 17 and 1800’s with acreage they pick. It’s like House Hunters without the speckled granite, espresso cabinets, and open floor plans. Oh, and without the American drama.
⋅HOUSE RENOVATION Today Micah comes home from a project he’s been working on out of town for the last two months. Parenting solo has been a challenge at times and kept renovations at bay…that baby thing might have something to do with it too. While the last five months without any major makeovers have been really nice weekends filled with family time instead of sawdust I’ve been anxious to get back at it. And just because we haven’t been swinging hammers and laying tile doesn’t mean I haven’t been planning. We’ve got our backyard on the brain. If all goes according to plan we’ll be tackling a lot of it in the coming months.
