⋅DOMINO MAE She’s here! Yes, I said she and to say we were all a little surprised would be an understatement. When Micah text family that it was a girl, one of his sisters was sure he was joking. She had to get confirmation from my mom to believe it! Maybe down the road I’ll share a bit more about how she got here, but Domino made her entrance on Wednesday, November 2nd at 12:26pm, weighing 7 lb 10 oz and was a petite 18″ long. Not only was she born on her dad’s birthday, they were born the exact same minute! He wasn’t too keen on sharing his day, so sharing the minute makes it pretty laughable.
⋅GLITTER + BUBBLES On Thursday I was really honored to be featured on Corri McFadden’s chic mom blog. Corri is a fellow Kansas Citian turned incredibly successful Chicago fashion entrepreneur. We met shortly after I started The Makerista, and she has been one of my biggest cheerleaders, so it was so fun to be interviewed about my life as a mom and share some of my favorite mom necessities, along with the quick and easy holiday treat I make every year. Corri and her team definitely made prettier coconut joys than I do!
⋅BOOGIE BOARD It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is not that far off. If you’re like us, our kids already have more than they need. I struggle to find good gifts for them that don’t take up a ton of space, bust the budget, or turn their brains to mush. My dad got Xander a Boogie Board recently, and it’s such a wonderful thing! Both kids love drawing and writing on it, it’s easy to take along anywhere, and it’s a good price point. X has even chosen it over his iPod on occasion. You can purchase one here. Any other great kid’s gifts I should know about?
⋅THE CROWN Thanks to all these late night feedings I’ve started this new Netflix series. Gosh, is it beautiful! The colors throughout are just splendid. If you’re not yet watching The Crown I suggest you add it to your watch list and get ready to screenshot loads of inspiration.
It turns out you forget what having a newborn is like after four years. I feel so much more relaxed than I did with the other two, yet there seems to be much more responsibility and less time to take for myself. I will likely be a little quieter on the blog the rest of the year, but there were a few partnerships and projects I just couldn’t pass up on that I can’t wait to share with you! Plus, I’ve been working on refreshing a space in our home, I know, you’d think coming off the ORC I could be satisfied for a bit and it’s one that I’m really excited about. Nothing drastic to the bones of the room, but a makeover that will make a big difference in my day-to-day. I’m styling and shooting our sunroom with Laura these next two days and can’t wait to reveal our One Room Challenge space on Wednesday. Be sure to stop back by!
