The dining room has been a process. We renovated the beginning of the year, but there were several elements that took time. The table, windsor chairs and rug fell into place pretty quickly, but other pieces have come in one by one.
We had the buffet made this fall but finding something permanent to live on top has taken time. I always envisioned lamps, but the buffet is seven feet wide – the right scale was tricky.
Like most pieces I scout, I spent hours searching in stores and online for the perfect pair of buffet lamps. Lamps in stores were always too small, and I didn’t find anything online that seemed to fit the bill. Then I opened an email from Rejuvenation a few weeks ago and saw these.
I mean, hello!!! Minimal and modern yet show-stopping. Contrasting in style with the Williamsburg chandelier but mimicking in sphere shape and brass finish. I knew right away that these were the lamps.
It’s always hard to tell scale in pictures, but they are tall – over three feet in height. I love that the lamps are the right scale but aren’t overwhelming in the space. They look beautiful alone but will go with almost any spread of food we might throw on the buffet.
It feels so good to have this area done. I am finalizing the details in the bay window, and then I think we can call this room finished! For now.
Thanks to Rejuvenation for partnering on the lamps, and thank you for supporting the brands that make The Makerista possible!
