I have to say, dressing a little girl has certainly been one of the most enjoyable tasks I have been given. There is something just so sweet about it. Like every area of design in my life, Milly’s wardrobe is an eclectic mix. She has quite a few different styles of clothing and the price points are all over the place – from Walmart to designer brands.
And if I look through to see where I spend vs. where I splurge, I definitely tend to splurge on shoes.
I’ve tried to convince myself that quality and cost don’t have to go hand in hand, but my track record would prove otherwise. When I spend on something well made, I get my return on that investment. The shoes last and Milly seems to gravitate towards them (meaning they’re not only stylish, but also comfortable).
Freshly Picked moccasins are by far her favorite shoe. And mine too. They easily slide on, come in the most beautiful colors, and don’t leave any marks on those chunky, little toddler feet of hers.
While Milly has her manners down (“Peese? Tan kew!”) she is far from reserved or coy. Her rough-and-tumble, feisty personality shines through, and this girl loves to be on the move. She takes a spill and usually pops up with giggles, but she takes fewer of those nosedives in these shoes than any of her other pairs.
We’re on pair number three (she got a pair for her first birthday, and a pair for Christmas) and I have given them as baby gifts a few times now. It’s something unique that I know any mom will love and appreciate once they see how nicely they fit and how well they hold up.
I’m thrilled that Freshly Picked has offered to give one of you a pair of moccasins today!
Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below (it will ask you for your name and email, but you won’t get any spammy emails) for your chance to win: perfect for your little one or that baby shower you have coming up. Best of luck!
So, what are your splurge/save items when it comes to kids wardrobes? Is there anything you refuse to spend on? (I don’t like to spend much on leggings or basic t’s) Anything you feel justified in splurging on?
Hope you’re having a lovely Memorial Day!

She is adorable. I too have a little fashionista and it is so much fun to dress her. Honestly, she has better wardrobe than I do lol.

Those mocs are great – especially since Milly likes them. She is a cutie!

Shoes are a totally justifiable splurge! With my first little I bought Sophie the Giraffe, an amber necklace, Ect … My second just turned 1 and I seriously can't think of anything I've splurged on! I can't decide if that's good or bad. Funny how different things are with subsequent babes.

Sophie and the amber necklace are musts, even if the amber necklace is just for looks. 🙂
I certainly wouldn't be buying Milly much if her brother would have been a girl too!

My sister knew about these shoes and keeps telling me I need them for Harper! Maybe I will win…fingers crossed!

Milly is so cute! I've been drooling over these moccasins for a while now and am waiting until my daughter is walking a little more before I splurge. I haven't really splurged on much yet, but I can always justify spending money on a nice white dress for events. Babies always look adorable in them.

Okay….why have I not seen pictures of this gorgeous little girl until now? Where have I been?! I didn't know you had a daughter named Milly, I LOVE that! When I started reading I thought you were referring to the brand of womans clothing named Milly. I got a little drunk at Saks last month (long story) and thought I could afford a $300 Milly skirt. I reluctantly returned it a week later. Your story i sway better.

I love them. In Germany the little ones wear a lot of shoes like this and my Lilly had several herself. Love them.
