I’m constantly amazed at how tightly knit our lives and the relationships we cultivate are. I’ve always thought the lines between “real” life and “blog” life were distinct, but I’ve realized, if you’re lucky, the two can collide.
When I was a sophomore, I sat in history class next to the sweetest girl in all of Blue Springs South High School. Laura Dade was caring, polite and full of light. AND she was an amazing photographer. Laura would come into class with recent projects and we would all ooh and awe.
I’m still oohing and awing over her work. Laura’s ability to capture a moment and it’s emotion is a true gift, and although weddings are her bread and butter, she is an amazing stylist. She does the majority of photography for her friend, Lindsay, someone I’ve been following in the blog world for about 3 years now. When Laura asked me to help her shoot some of Lindsay’s apparel I jumped at the chance.
The 3 of us also worked on this project together, and I used one of the pictures from the campaign as my first image for this blog. I loved the image, but it was a look specific for that project. Laura offered to take a few shots that better suited my style while she was here.
My plant collection is like another child.
I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out, and I couldn’t be more blessed with such a talented friend!
I’ll be back on Monday with some shots of our tree – I’m finally finishing it up – along with a play by play of how I decorated it this year. In the mean time I’ll be attempting to wrap presents without my children seeing. Please tell me how that works?

Sandy, it's a 1.5" wand. Thanks! I honestly just curl both sides backwards…about 6 or 7 sections total…and then brush through and spray a bit. Nothing fancy. 🙂

Oh, thanks, and you're beautiful lady! It's so awkward isn't it? I've found especially since having kids, it just feels weird to take a minute to do something like this by myself. 🙂
