My husband’s cousin is pregnant with her 4th child. After carrying 2 myself, I have much respect for this woman. I didn’t mention that her first 3 are a group of handsome, rough-and-tumble boys. But this go around, Sam and her family are welcoming a precious little girl into the world. Mollie Mae will have quite the security detail.
Sam and I have very similar tastes (she’s one of the first people I text when I find a treasure that I need a second opinion on) and we have always kind of had this great “style relationship.” We just get each other. So, naturally, when her sister said she was going to throw a little open house to celebrate this sweet mama and baby, I asked if I could help. I’m not the person you ask to head up shower games or put together a menu, but I do enjoy making invitations.
I kind of took a page from the details Sam was planning for Mollie’s room. I started with the idea of the flowers, and added some strong color to an old botanical print I found.
I think the mix of pinks and tomato reds is feminine, yet modern and strong. I have had some requests for the curtain fabric in Milly’s room (I got it at a discount fabric store and there was no identification on it), and this kind of reminds me of it a bit. I went ahead and uploaded a pattern of it to Spoonflower, for those of you who were looking for something similar.
On another note, I’ve been really excited to share this with you all the past few weeks…
The kids and I got to do this really fun “Narnia meets Hunger Games” cover shoot on my birthday a few weeks ago! Along with the cover, the magazine did a story on Xander’s Friday the 13th birthday. That’s why I’ve been waiting to share the party with you all here.
But Monday I will be back with lots of pictures and details. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
