While this blog is mostly about pretty things that I make which at this stage of my story is mainly rooms in our house I try to keep it fairly real with you all. I LOVE beauty, but life isn’t always dished out that way. You usually have to work for it, and that process can get kind of ugly. But that ugly makes you appreciate the beauty and that process in itself can be a beautiful thing.
Today I’m honored to be sharing more of the personal side of things over on Design Sponge. I’m confessing what makes me comfortable/uncomfortable, how I deal with burn out, and what I would do with a month to myself I don’t think I can even wrap my brain around that. You can see more here.

Uh-oh! Are you going to have to replace your tag line “making anything and everything …except dinner.” ??

Haha…I’ve thought about that, but I think even people who like to cook probably don’t love the monotony of making dinner every night. I have a feeling I’ll find a love for cooking on my own terms, and a pretty kitchen will help for those times when I’d rather be doing something else. 😉

Congrats on the feature! Loved hearing more about your story/journey. Also really inspired by the recent round of new, beautiful photos (by Justin) you’ve been sprinkling in recently! Not that your own photography isn’t beautiful (it is!), but it’s fun to see these as well. 🙂

You’re sweet, thanks, Katie! It is kind of nice to show a person in the spaces in our home sometimes. I think it just shows the scale and depth so much better. Hope you’re having a great week!

I just read the article and loved it! Congrats on the feature, it was so fun to learn more about you….an opera singer?!! How interesting. That caught me by surprise. I of course love your dining room and all the photos were gorgeous. Dying to see what is going on in that kitchen! How exciting. Bravo!
