Online shopping is easy and relaxing, but nothing beats the “in the flesh” experience of hunting and gathering. As someone who spends a lot of time online, browsing the internet for all kinds of goods has become a big part of my day, and I feel pretty aware of what’s available on the world wide web. Last fall I was introduced to Arhaus and was amazed by the quantity they carried. While working on my friend’s living room I stumbled across this daybed and knew it would be the perfect piece for her long and narrow space.
Arhaus carries beautiful, neutral options in stock, but they also have around 3,000 custom fabrics – perfect for those of us who like a little pop.
Along with choosing your fabric, you are often able to select wood stains and metal finishes, making each piece one of a kind. When the daybed came, we were pleased it looked the way it did online (sometimes you don’t get so lucky) and I was really happy with the quality. It was heavy and the fabric was rich and thick…a piece that would hold up to kids and pets and life. I’ve spent many a day browsing Arhaus’ site since then, but Wednesday I got the chance to see most of the items in person, and it reminded me how much online shopping just can’t quite compare.
The chance to touch and hold and sit on is such a wonderful part of the shopping process. So, I wanted to round up a list of items that were my favorite online and were just as good, if not better, in person.
Today, Arhaus opens it’s newest 17,000 square foot store yes, it’s huge in Leawood, Kansas, and I loved the chance to wander through the rooms of plush seating and glistening lights. Their grand opening party is June 4th, but they’re open now so if you’re in the Kansas City area be sure to stop in for everything from furnishings to flowers (they have live arrangements throughout the store that not only add beauty and fragrance but that you can purchase for that last minute dinner party).
Speaking of parties, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. We’ve been looking forward to our first pool party, but with cool temps and the chance of rain all weekend, we might have to hold off a little longer. I’m not complaining though. I’ll take the sight of cold yet crystal blue water over that ugly pool tarp we’ve been staring at any day!

They have several stores on the east coast I think…I know they have quite a few in DC. Hope you can make it to one someday!

Love it. I snagged two of the lambswool pillows, a pair of lamps, and a sheepskin rug from Arhaus and they are amazing. The quality is so so good. I wish there was a store in CA, but they haven't ventured the brick and mortars out west yet.
