Do you remember the tub chairs I purchased off Craigslist last spring? After some time and money I really love how they turned out.
Micah claimed they were the ugliest chairs ever, but after a few nights of sitting in them he quickly became silent and just showed me his feelings…by sitting in them every night.
And now they’re not only comfortable, they’re incredibly soft. I did a lot of fabric sourcing and kept coming up short on the right shade, but luckily my friend Jessie check out her online store filled with loads of great home decor helped me get my hands on this beautiful, nude velvet. It’s just the right shade of pink, smooth as butter, and really hard wearing. These are the chairs everyone wants to sit in, so quality is very important.
There are just a handful of things left to feel like this room is complete. For now anyway. The rug is definitely my next and biggest target, as I think the right piece will transform the space and the feeling it evokes. And maybe a throw for one of the chairs?
If you’re in Kansas City and looking for an upholsterer, check out Coverup Interiors. I got about 10 quotes and he was the lowest (and it included pick up and drop off). He’s a third generation upholsterer who clearly does it for the love of the craft and was a pleasure to work with.
