I’m excited to be sharing some easy and festive headbands with you today!
The holidays are a busy time, but also a time you hope to make special. These headbands are an adorable way to make your holiday card a standout, or they would be perfect to wear to a party or winter program.
You will need:
A headband
Scissors
A glue gun
The pattern
Felt – regular or stiffened is nice if you prefer the no-sew route.
Optional:
Embroidery floss, a needle and batting – if you would like a stuffed star.
Embellishments – mini pearls, rhinestones…the scrapbooking section usually has some fun finds.
Print and cut out the pattern. Then trace on a fold of the felt and cut out.
Start in the corners with the pearls and then fill in to keep things even.
Place a small drop of glue on the underneath side of the headband and attach the base of the star. Glue the rest of the base and the star.
For a stuffed star, use a straight stitch and work your way around the star, leaving one point open. Use the end of a crochet hook or a pencil to fill with some batting (you’ll want to over stuff the other points and then move some of the batting into the last point once it’s closed off). Then stitch the last point.
Place a dot of glue on the underneath side of the headband and attach the star. Then glue the base together. With the regular felt it is important to use enough glue to get a sturdy hold for the star to stand up.
My son, Xander, has really enjoyed playing with the crown, and my daughter, Milly, actually left the headbands on!
I’m sharing the easy felt crown DIY and a simple pipe cleaner crown over on my blog today. Come on over and take a look!
It was a pleasure sharing with you today!
