I’m really excited to be a part of another Blogger Styling Home Tours hosted by the lovely White Buffalo Styling Co. today! For those of you joining me from Cassie’s blog, welcome! I’m not sure which I love more, her home tour or her t-shirt!
Bringing home our third child a few weeks ago has meant that holiday decorating hasn’t been as much of a priority this year. I usually love to sprinkle a bit of cheer throughout the house, but I opted to pack a punch where it really mattered this season, and show myself some grace with the rest. There’s always next year! This time around the main tree went smack dab in front of the library bay window, and the 9′ beauty from Lowe’s really shines from inside and out.
While red and green are just fine I’ll back that up in a bit I really prefer to match my seasonal decor to what is already happening in a space. The pinks and burgundies in the tree blend in nicely with the bones of the room and the pop of cobalt in the wrapping brings out the collections of blue books. P.S. Homegoods has the best wrapping and ribbon selection for the price.
The tree may be the first thought, but the mantle is just as important when you’ve got little ones – Santa’s entrance matters. While my decor seems to evolve from year to year, this is one area where I felt content with last season’s decking. These beautifully jeweled stockings from Frontgate are so special. We usually do faux trees, but I can never pass up real garland. The smell and look feel like a million bucks for very little money.
Our entry is tiny, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make it inviting. Never underestimate the decorating power of a bowl of fruit. Go for what’s in season for an inexpensive nod to the season.
Last year we did a big tree in the kid’s playroom, but this year I opted for smaller trees in their bedrooms. The work was much less, and the decorating allowed the kids’ individual personalities to shine, a win-win!
Now to snuggle our new, sweet babe under the twinkling of the tree lights. Next up is the incredibly talented House of Hipsters!

How you do all of this with sweet Domino in your arms is beyond me, my friend! I adore your library tree – you have seriously mastered the art of perfect ornament placement! And the asymmetry of the garland on the fireplace is totally my jam!
Wishing you and your lovely brood the very Merriest of Christmases, filled with wonder and delight (and also peace and SLEEP!).
xx Sarah

Congratulations on your newest family member! And for choosing to be gentle with yourself re: holiday decorating expectations – that’s tough.
Absolutely LOVE that wreath art print – wondering what size that is (hard to tell from the piece of furniture below it…) is it the 16 x20 version?
Thank you.
Happy Holidays!

Thanks so much, yes, I was clearly all about the pinks this year. 🙂
