⋅LINDSAY LETTERS FALL COLLECTION Lindsay has another fun collection for the season, and Laura styled the Halloween prints using a lot of my holiday stash. I love how it all came together, and that black and white smoke bomb is all kinds of good! You can check out the whole line here and use code fallinlove16 for 15% off your purchase.
⋅LETGO Have you used this app? Nesting was in full force this last month, and I managed to go through both kids’ rooms, the basement storage and my craft/office supplies like a champ. I took several carloads to Frugal’s and now have an entire guest bedroom filled with stuff I need to sell. I love the convenience of letgo over Craigslist, but I’ve found most of the people to be total flakes. As of right now it looks like I’ll be having a garage sale to rid myself of all of those extra chairs, mirrors, fabric, and decorative objects I just had to have. Can you hear Micah “I told you so”-ing me as I make him move it all around?
⋅PROJECTS I love how this blog has grown and the exciting opportunities your continued support have brought me. With that said, oftentimes I find myself working on things that I can’t share with you yet! The suspense and the secrecy kills me…I want to take you through the process completely, but sometimes good things have to wait. Right now I’m working on some great things, most of which I have to wait a while to share. Here’s a peek at something I can show…
Halloween isn’t as far off as you think, and it really is one of my favorite reasons to seasonably decorate. While I have a bunch of decor already, I couldn’t help but pick up a few more things to add to my collection. Watching my next bullet point has really inspired me for this year’s All Hallow’s Eve.
⋅JONATHAN STRANGE AND MR. NORRELL I don’t watch television, per say, but I LOVE a good Netflix binge while I work. This BBC show was just so pretty in the creepiest of ways. The story was pretty good, but the interiors, props, and colors had me drooling, dreaming and scheming. Any suggestions for what I should watch next?
⋅FEELING FRESH Traditionalism is where it’s at for me, and there are two things I’ve been seeing and craving to bring into my own home this last year: one is fringe specifically a fringe lampshade and the other is the use of the same pattern on multiple surfaces.
Sourcing a while ago I stumbled upon House of Hackney, and I can’t stop obsessing over their patterns and execution. I could create an entire room around this lamp…
Milly started preschool again on Wednesday and the idea of having a handful of hours to myself every week again is completely glorious. Thank you for sticking it out while I spent the summer making memories and mothering my little ones. I’ll be back in the next few weeks with some project reveals and holiday decor to share!

That smoke bomb piece is stunning. I was on a marbled canvas streak, but that piece right there is my latest obsession.

Isn’t it?! I’m trying to find a place for it as we speak, actually. 🙂

I didn’t know they’d made a series out of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell! Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be on Canadian Netflix. I read that over the holidays one year while I had the flu. Maybe it was the fever, but it came across as very other worldy.

Ha, it definitely felt other worldly. I wonder if you’ll get it soon. I would say the story was slow at times but the set/costume design was so remarkable! Definitely a feast for the eyes!

My husband and I recently gave JS&MN a shot. While we haven’t decided whether to finish it, I actually pinned that exact picture–the teal/green library–for our house! I loved the setting.
So happy to see traditional design making its reemergence. Any other resources for European/American traditional design inspo?

That’s so funny! Yes, it was definitely a show I could watch while working, which is good for me but doesn’t always mean they’re the most attention-grabbing 🙂 but I felt like towards the end I was more invested. I mainly get inspiration from British television, UK instagram accounts, and old design books. Hard to find a lot in this sea of white we’re facing in American design, but it is possible if you step outside of that. 😉

Just wanted to say that I’m enjoying your “bullet points” when you might not feel like you have enough for a full post! Also, looking forward to your new projects. I LOVE decorating for Halloween and your table last year was spectacular!
Thanks,
Shannon

I appreciate your feedback, Shannon! I’m glad you like it, it just felt like I had lots of little thoughts that I still wanted to share and this has been a fun way of doing so!

Try Penny Dreadful for more beautifully Gothic sets!

I have heard that’s great! I actually started it but there was a lot of sex off the bat that made me turn it off, ha. Is it like that throughout? I’m a total prude, I suppose. 🙂
