This week I’m headed back to my favorite city to stay with one of my dearest friends, celebrate turning 31 and hang out with some of my favorite bloggers at Better Homes & Gardens annual Stylemaker event. This time of year is always a whirlwind for us – filled with birthdays, anniversaries and the hustle and bustle of routine again. Getting away adds to that stress and releases it all at the same time.
I’m ready to get back to New York. I never know what the city will bring, but I always know I’ll be inspired, create memories, thrive off its energy and maybe learn a thing or two. There are a few places I make sure to get to when I’m in town, but any recommendations are appreciated! I’ve been eating plant-based for awhile now and would definitely love any vegan recommendations. I’ll be sharing my adventures over on Snapchat and Instagram (@themakerista) if you’d like to follow along there.

New York City has been having the BEST weather this month – perfect for sightseeing. My favorite places to visit in the city for inspiration are ABC Carpet & Home, John Derian and Company, Tinsel Trading Company, The Antiques Garage Flea Market and Brooklyn Flea. Bunna Cafe in Brooklyn has the best ethiopian (vegan) food. And my favorite museum is the Tenement Museum. Have Fun!

I enjoyed Babycakes NYC (now called Erin McKenna's Bakery) for vegan (and gluten-free!) donuts, cookies, cake, etc. Yum! https://www.erinmckennasbakery.com/new-york-city/ Have a great trip and happy birthday!
