Yesterday I had the privilege of helping my friend Laura style and shoot Lindsay Letters winter collection in our home. While Laura did the shooting (because, well, she’s the professional) I took some shots from the sidelines.
I’ve mentioned Lindsay and her beautiful work here. I’m so excited for these new pieces and the fresh, modern feel they have.
I meant to get a picture of the whole space as we were working but didn’t. It so true though…making pretty means making a mess everywhere else! The house was torn upside down, but I always kind of like that. It causes me to rethink decor and forces me to switch things up a bit. It also makes me clean those areas I usually skimp on.
This is one of my favorite setups from the day. I am slightly obsessed with tone on tone (my personal design trend for 2014), and the mix of reds, pinks, and oranges felt just right. If you’re loving Lindsay’s work be sure to check back next week. While I won’t be here to blog, I’m going to set up some really fun giveaways!
Right before Christmas my older brother offered me the most amazing gift: his spot on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. I leave Monday to teach at a woman’s conference (gulp). I am so excited and feel really blessed for this opportunity, but teaching and living with a family who will not likely know any English are a little scary. Leaving my children will be difficult too. But I know it will be one of the best experiences of my life, and the 85 degree weather doesn’t sound too bad either.
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to check back next week!

I love all of her new prints! My husband and I are considering a mission trip to the DR this fall. Can't wait to hear about your experience!

I'll be sure to let you know, Beth. My husband actually went there several years ago with our church, but he went to help with baseball clinics. It's kind of fun to know I'm going somewhere he's experienced. Have a great weekend!

Great shoot! Good luck on your trip. In my experience, the things that scare us the most end up being the things that help us to grow the most.
